Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra started her career in showbiz as a child. She played lead roles in TV dramas as young as 16 years old. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall, her role as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also critically acclaimed. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra has been involved in numerous important international and national projects over the years. Some of these include the British biographical documentary Control, the Greek drama movie The Dust of Time, and French historical miniseries Napoleon. The actress also served on the jury of the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
